In group therapy up to 6 clients work collaboratively with the therapist. Group therapy provides a supportive environment where clients with similar problems develop and learn strategies together to improve their lives.
Groups focus on helping people who use technology excessively. This includes the compulsive use of video games, computer games, web sites, TV, and cell phones. The emphasis is on learning to control, limit, or eliminate use, depending on the individual’s goals for therapy.
Groups have a didactic curriculum component as well as a supportive social component. Participants will learn how to limit and control their compulsive behaviors and develop alternative coping strategies.
